Cleaning and finishing surfaces have never been so easy and efficient with the use of brushes. They are considered a staple tool in various industrial applications and usually come in varying dimensions, colors, and capabilities. Below is a short list of different types of brushes for cleaning and finishing according to the material they are made of.

Steel

Brushes made of steel are ideal for concrete finishing that require the use of tough bristles. This type of brush can be used not only on steel and iron, but also on wood, concrete, and other materials. One good rule of thumb when it comes to steel brushes is that, the softer the material coming in contact with the brush, the more likely that the brush will cut into it. In some cases, steel brushes can be used on wet applications that involve corrosion and surfaces with higher temperatures.

Stainless Steel

This non-magnetic type of brush is suitable for products made of stainless steel and fabricated aluminum, as well as situations that require repetitive brush exposure to moisture. Stainless steel brushes in strip form can also be used as a brush ...

It can also be used for static reduction, hole detection, and application of wet or dry coating to eliminate loose material. Cylinder, strip, auger, and wheel brushes are just some of the types of brushes with bristles made of stainless steel.

Bras

Compared with steel and stainless steel, brass wires are softer and do not scratch harder surfaces. This corrosion-resistant type of brush is usually made of an alloy of copper (70%) and Zinc (30%). Compared to bronze, brass wires mounted on a brush machine are also suitable for hazardous environment and static reduction applications.

Nylon

Aside from metal, brushes can also be made of nylon. This type of brush is intended for a plethora of industrial applications because of some notable properties including abrasion resistance, higher moisture absorption rate, resistance to weak acids, and bending recovery. Nylon rotary brushes such as wheel, cup, and cylinder brushes come in black and natural colors in crimped and non-crimped formats.

Polyester

In situations where nylon and other types of brushes are not enough, polyester brushes can be a good option. It is considered more reliable than nylon when it comes to absorption rate and works better than polypropylene when it comes to oxidation resistance. Polyester brushes used to provide a concrete brush finish are available in black and natural, with different sizes available in stock.
