Plastering and rendering is a great way to give a fresh look to a wall or your whole house but traditional rendering techniques is not easy to apply and when it is painted it requires regular re-coating to maintain its finish. Nowadays there are several types of material are available in the market which has made the work much easier but it still requires experts in plastering and rendering in Soho and St. James’s if you want to achieve best results.

Most of the new types of render available in the market have made the work easy for DIY enthusiasts as these things are suitable to be used on both old and new walls. Most of these new render systems have an acrylic base and already contain the colour making then easy to work with and be cleaned with water. In case you are new to rendering then it is wise to take advice from someone who is an expert on plastering and rendering in St. James's or Soho. Remember the first objective of rendering is to weatherproof exterior walls and second is the texture. It incorporates both functionality and ...
... visual appeal and so a render can be done by giving it a smooth coat (this looks good) or by adding texturizing materials such as small stones and clippings.

If you are repairing a wall that had already been rendered in the past then first you must carefully prepare yourself. Start by inspecting for any kind of cracks or dents or for locations where the rendering is no more attached to the wall; usually places which have swollen up or are giving a hollow sound when tapped are the areas where the render is no more bonded with the wall. To someone who has not much experience it might take a long time but for those experienced in plastering and rendering in St. James's or Soho it will take just a few moments.

Now comes the fixing part. To repair a crack first you have to widen it with a trowel or screwdriver. Remove all the debris and dust and then with the help of a trowel put the mortar mixture into the crack press it to fill it up and then smoothen it. This will fix the problem but will leave a mark on the wall; surely you wouldn’t like to have a spot on the wall. So the next step is to disguise the repair job. To disguise the repair job a finish render coat can be applied over the whole surface you can use masonry paint.

Cleaning is an important part when it comes to rendering a wall and every professional experienced in plastering and rendering in Soho or St. James's knows it. Before you apply the finish render coat make sure that you wash the wall thoroughly with water (can also use a power washer).
