The main objective of Fair Credit Reporting Act is to protect people from false information against them because this can completely destroy their credit history. This is so because there are institutions which report outdated as well as false information about the people. There are debt collectors which publicize people’s old debt as new. All this sends wrong information to other lending institutions and as a result when people go out to borrow loan they do not get them. So there was a need for an organization that would help people to protect their interests and rights. As a result this act was established to keep a balance and transparency with regards to the financial status of the people.

Fair Credit Reporting Act has laid down certain rights for the people so that they can safeguard themselves from the damage caused due to false information. According to the FCRA people can acquire information about their credit report from the main credit bureaus once in a year for free. They also have the right to review the report on the basis of which they have been refused any credit. They also have the right ...
... to object any information that is wrongly mentioned in their credit report as well as they can limit the access to their credit report. They can even sue any creditor or debt collectors if they do not follow the rules and regulations set by the act.

In a similar way Consumer Fraud Act also helps in safeguarding the interests of the consumers. There are many business firms which manufacture different kinds of products and sell them in the market for the consumers to buy. Consumers buy them in order to use them in their daily lives. There are many products which are liked by them while there are many which they do not like. Actually the difference is in the quality of the product. Good quality products are always liked by everyone whereas products with low quality are not accepted. But when consumers use a product for the first time they do not know about its quality and if something adverse happens by the use of the product, they can take help from the Consumers Fraud Act to safeguard their interests. Consumers can also lodge a complaint against the business firm producing such low quality product and sue them under this act and protect themselves.

Therefore, Fair Credit Reporting Act and Consumer Fraud Act are really helpful to the people.
