Every youngster like you wears t-shirts and there must have been quite a few times when you ended up wearing a t-shirt identical to that of your best friend’s. Wearing the same t-shirt as your friend’s, while attending a party is definitely not a very appealing idea. And this is precisely why customizing your t-shirts is a very good idea. You can print words, images or art designs to customize your t-shirt and make it look very different. In fact, you can customize your t-shirts by yourself if you use your imagination and have a little time in hand. Here are some ideas.
One of the most popular t-shirt printing styles is the iron-on style. For this you will require an image. Moreover, the image should be printable on a special transfer paper. An ink-jet printer will have to be used to print the image that you have selected on the paper. The image has to be printed in mirror image or in the reverse. The next step is to transfer the image from the paper to your t-shirt with the use of a commercial heat press or an iron. You can use just about any kind of image for iron-on style of printing. However, the downside of this ...
... printing style is that if the image is large the t-shirt might become stiff at first but it starts to soften with every wash.
You can also opt for the matte vinyl style for printing something on your t-shirt. For this you will need a matte polyurethane sheet, the sheet is cut by commercial plotter cutters. You can send a word or a drawing to a cutter from any drawing program of your choice. The word or drawing is then cut out. The excess from the cut out is peeled off and it is then applied to your t-shirt using the commercial heat press. The biggest advantage of this style is, even large drawings or images have a soft feel and you can wear the t-shirt easily.
The flocked style is also a very popular style of t-shirt printing. The flocked style has a raised look and has a velvety feel to it. The procedure of flocked style is quite similar to the matte vinyl style the only difference being in case if flocked style printing the image has to be cut in the reverse. This style gives dimension to words and the simplest of clip art images.
