Traffic advisor panels are an extremely important component of advanced, feature rich light bars that come in standard lengths of 44, 56, 60 or 72 inches. These full length light bars come with a variety of light heads such as corner strobes, LED split segment modules, dual stack modules, work lamps, flashing takedowns and alley lights. However, the Traffic advisors have added an altogether new dimension to the effectiveness of warning lights and emergency light bars mounted on top of vehicles such as patrol cars, construction equipment carriers, service crew carriers and law and enforcement and fire fighter vehicles. In the simplest form, these lights can flash a gigantic arrow in the left or right direction, but there is a lot more which adds to their effectiveness and efficiency.

Traffic advisor panels are built into a light bar as separate components in some cases. Full-fledged, light bars which are 44 to 72 inches long and 12 inches wide are seen with these additional panels that can prove to be useful during a crisis. However, there are advanced light bars where the LED modules can be used ...
... in multiple ways, one of them being as Traffic advisors. Modern light bars make use of LEDs which have made it possible to use these bars as Traffic advisors. The LEDs can be programmed to flash or operate in several different ways. The advisors can be in several different safety colours such as red, green and amber.

Traffic advisor LED panels comprise of an array of LEDs. In more powerful light bars, bigger 10mm LEDs which could have a rating of 5W are used. In that case 8 – 12 LEDs in a single file can prove to be more than effective. In some cases, Gen III super-bright 1W LEDs are used in dozens to achieve the brightness. This would be necessary to prove effective on highways, where vehicles from a long distance have to be alerted to a dangerous situation like a possible diversion, construction, repair or wreckage on the way. LEDs send out unidirectional light beams which can further be enhanced through the use of optic spreader filters and lenses.

Traffic advisor LED panels display flashing arrows in the right or left direction to redirect traffic in a particular way. These can prove to be effective in clearing traffic jams and bottlenecks. Interceptor vehicles can make use of these panels to clear traffic or redirect it to avoid jams or enhance security for events. The LED panels are well encapsulated so that they can be used in all kinds of weather conditions. The brightness of LEDs can be particularly useful when you want these advisors to get the motorists’ attention during dense fog or heavy rain. The LED advisors’ visibility is further enhanced with built in flash patterns. Fast blinking flash patterns especially comet flash, triple flash and quad bursts provide maximum lighting output that could prove decisive especially during daytime when it is already very bright. Similarly, the flashes can help on high traffic roads where there are plenty of other lights too.
