Srilanka is a land of diverse attractions, truly mind blowing. It is a true wonder in that in such a compact location, there are variety of assortments encompassing geographical and cultural diversity, exotic flora and fauna and plethora of activities. Srilanka offers in about sixty five thousand kilometers of area, eight UNESCO world heritage sites, unspoiled beaches, fifteen national parks with plentiful wildlife, botanical gardens, three hundred and fifty waterfalls, lakes and an ancient culture dating back to over two thousand and five hundred years.

Srilanka tourism lets one skim through diversity in all aspects of life. Starting with pristine beaches of various shapes to the central part of plains with geographic features such as lagoons, wetlands, rivers and different types of jungle, rich with varied wildlife and mist covered mountains. The major National Parks of Srilanka are Yala National Park, Wilpattu National Park, Gal Oya National Park, Uda Walawe National Park, Madhura Oya National Park, Wasgamuwa National Park, Horton Plains Nationa Park and Bundala National Park. The animals seen in National Parks of Srilanka include elephant, leopard, sloth bear, sambhur, deer and monkeys, wild buffalo, wild boar, porcupine, ant-eater, civet cat, jackal, mongoose, loris and several varieties of lizards, squirrels, reptiles and amphibians. Out of these loris is unique to Srilanka.

With a long coastline to boot, Srilanka is apt for wind-surfing, water skiing, surfing, sailing, scuba- diving, snorkeling and speed boating. More renowned of water sports sites are Negombo, Wadduwa, Kalutara, Beruwela, Bentota, Hikkaduwa and Galle.

Many types of rice, spices, vegetables and fruits are cultivated in Srilanka. This fact mixed with foreign influences result in a unique and delicious cuisine. Srilanka has a delectable array of snacks also.

Ayurvedic treatment is now a specialty of Srilanka. The system consists of various modes of herbal treatments, baths and massages. Yoga, meditation and special diets are also included.
