A strobe light head proves useful in many different ways. There are several types of strobe lights such as halogen lights, xenon lights and LED lights. However, in the current situation the LED strobe lights have proven to be the most effective and hence the most popular. LED strobe lights are used in many different ways. Firstly, they are installed in composite headlights, brake lights, tail lights and turn lights, through a 1-inch hole drilled in the domes. The domes provide encapsulation to the LED elements protecting them from vagaries of weather and also excessive vibration caused by the movement of the vehicle.

UV resistant Fresnel domes are used for wide angle optics, to throw the light from the LEDs across a wider angle and also to a greater distance. The domes are known not to get yellowed and their smooth exterior also prevents any dust from settling and affecting the actual intensity of the strobe lighting. The coverage of the strobe light heads is excellent, although there is plenty of control available as well. For example, you can choose between 10 degree narrow ...
... beams from the strobe lights, which are highly focussed and are used for rescue and search missions in dangerous terrains. You can also go for 120-degree beams, which provide wide angle coverage on the horizontal scale. The strobe lights can be used for sending across a warning signal to a distant vehicle or to speeding motorists on a highway.

strobe light heads can be used as standalone warning lights on emergency vehicles. But at the same time they can also be installed on top of full length light bars, along with other types of light heads. The standalone strobe lights can be just as useful to provide solid steady lighting as they can be to provide flashing lights. For example, lights mounted over the rear brake or turn lights can be spotted even through dense fog and rains by those motorists who are following the emergency vehicle. The strobe lights come with built in flash patterns, including mega bursts that can provide excellent luminosity that cannot be missed easily. Flashing rates over 100 can be achieved in strobe lights mounted on emergency vehicles.

There are full length, feature rich light bars which have corner strobe light heads for side angle vision. Some light bars have strobe lights mounted in a staggered fashion so that all the angles are covered by the lighting emitting from these light heads. There are gyratory strobe lights as well which can rotate over an axis providing 360-degree vision. Some strobe lights with chrome deflectors can provided off axis visibility as well. Another interesting way in which strobe lights are used is in case of a mini bar, where two powerful strobe lights are installed with a diamond mirror in between. The mirrors ensure that the lighting is spread across a wider angle. Optic spreading filters also provide the same advantage. Thus LED strobes, making use of 5 or 10mm Gen III LEDs can prove to be useful in more ways than one.
