Chronic Coughing
Chronic cough may also occur even on non smoking patients because of GERD. Once the stomach acid went up into the esophagus and it is aspirated, it can cause coughing.

It is said that GERD is associated with Asthma because of their symptoms. Studies suggested that 60 percent of people with asthma also have GERD. This condition can directly affect asthma when the acids reflux into the esophagus.
