Popular casino cities are well known for their discount hotel rooms, cheap airplane tickets, and cheap vacation packages.

Surprisingly Singapore with just two resort casinos, each of which is less than two years old, may have surpassed in 2011 the gaming revenue generated in Las Vegas which has 41 casinos on The Strip alone.

The number one gaming destination in the world is Asia’s Macau whose 33 casinos brought in $23.5 billion of gaming revenues in 2010. Macau’s gaming revenue is more than twice the total revenue of every casino in the state of Nevada.

Las Vegas and Singapore generated gaming revenues in 2010 of $5.8 billion and $5.1 billion respectively. Experts expect 2011 combined gaming revenues for Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa to come in around $6.4 billion vs. $6.2 billion for Las Vegas.

Singapore requires its citizen to pay a $100 fee to enter its casinos while visitors enter for free.

The sprawling Resorts World Sentosa is home to six hotels, including a Hard Rock Hotel and one designed and named after Michael Graves, and Southeast Asia’s first ...
... Universal Studios theme park which recently introduced TRANSFORMERS, The Ride. Fashionable shops and restaurants, a massive maritime museum, a Las Vegas style stage show, and a marine life park believed to the largest oceanarium in the world are also on its premises. A six star spa and wellness retreat is expected to open soon.

Marina Bay Sands stands 57 stories tall and has three giant hotel towers capped by Sands Sky Park, a cruise ship shaped park the size of three football fields with an observation desk, night club, restaurant, and an infinity edge swimming pool. The resort also offers a lotus shaped museum, a variety of entertainment venues, high end retail stores, restaurants and a casino.

These two casinos have dramatically raised the entertainment bar for its competition.
