Is My Mate Up To No Good?

You invest a lot of time and energy into your relationship and you deserve to know the truth about it's foundation. Here is a simple way to find out if your mate is engaged in any wrong doing. Accusing your mate of lying or cheating when they're not involved in this kind of behavior will only make you come off as being a jealous and insecure person. This has the potential to hurt the relationship. So abandon the urge to confront your mate at this time. Instead, wait for a non-hectic time in your lives and casually bring up the subject as someone else's situation, not your own. Then by simply watching your mate's response to the situation, you'll be able to find out if your mate has something up his/her sleeve. For instance, let's say you're a woman who suspects her husband of having an affair with his secretary. Casually, maybe over dinner, you would say, "You know what, Honey? My boss, Bob, I think he maybe having an affair with his secretary. Isn't that something?" Now you simply watch how he handles the situation and you'll have your answer. If he starts to ask questions and becomes ...
... interested in the topic you can be fairly sure that he's not involved in the same behavior. But if your mate becomes uncomfortable and looks to change the subject, then it's likely that your mate is involved in similar behavior.

Now let's reverse the previous example. Let's say your a man and you suspect your wife, who is a secretary, of having an affair with her boss. Once again, casually, maybe over dinner, you would say, "You know what, Honey? I think Jane, one of the secretaries in our sales department, is having an affair with her boss, Frank. Isn't that something?" Again, simply observe her response to the topic. Is she concerned or unconcerned? Is she comfortable with the topic or uncomfortable with it? I used a generic example here just to make my point, you may suspect your mate of cheating with a friend, a neighbor, a family member, the cable guy, the waiter at your favorite restaurant, their ex, whoever! In these cases, just fill in the blanks.

Things To Look Out For When Observing Your Mates Response:

1. Your mate suddenly stops making eye contact.

2. A quick shift in your mate's mood.

3. Your mate takes a few deep breathes. This is because when we are nervous we tend to hold our breath. Breathing deeply allows us to get oxygen in quick! This deep breathing is an involuntary action due to our tendency to hold our breath when we are nervous and will be very obvious. Deep breathing also calms our central nervous system and makes us appear more calm. So this actually benefits the liar.

4. Your mate tries to change the subject.

5. Your mate says things like, "I would never do anything like that!" or "Why are you looking at me like that?" and "What? You think I'm cheating with my Boss, Secretary, Friend, Ex," etc...

There is no reason for your mate to bring himself into the picture unless she's the one who feels guilty. Put simply, you know your mate, you spend time with your mate, and you know when your mate is uncomfortable or nervous. Just look for those two signs, or the lack there of, and you'll know if your mate is being completely honest with you.
