How To Find New Customers?

You have created your business, or you want to expand your business? Finding customers is essential to make the business sustainable.


To win new customers, first define the profile of these potential customers. Some points to clarify:

The type of clients: Individuals, businesses or both.
The age of your customers if they are individuals?
Their objectives, if your customers are businesses?
The geographical area in which they find themselves
If your customers are businesses, their corporate purpose.

Set the expectations of your prospects to target as accurately as possible. Start by asking you these two questions: What the customers can expect? And, what you will offer to be able to meet their expectations? However some business consulting services can also be a lot helpful in the growth of your business.


Some examples of expectations of customers:

Time saving (laundry, valet parking, fast food ...)
Good prices (discount store, ...
... e-commerce site, big box ...)
The dream (hairdressers, beauty, clothing, lingerie ...)
Practicality (e-commerce site, supermarket ...)
Original know how (painter, craftsman, gourmet restaurant ...)


Implement a strategy to customer prospecting:

The mailing or e-mailing: It can contact a large number of potential customers at a reduced cost. Give your mail an attractive appearance. For example, attach more visuals.
Phone: The goal is not the same as for mailing. On the phone, it is to set an appointment with a customer than to sell a product directly.
Door to Door: To find customers by door to door takes a long time and no reason to contact a small number of clients. It brings quite a few results and gives a little modern business.
Social networks: Companies and their employees are increasingly connected to social networks as professional LinkedIn or non professional twitter, Google plus and Facebook, these channels are becoming a means of exploration.
Towing: This is the distribution of advertising leaflets in the street. This type of distribution is carried out either by the national brands who often offer along with a perfume sample, product or local businesses (hairdressers, fast food ...) trying to make themselves known locally.


For the survey by telephone and by mail, buy or build customer files. They give you addresses, Internet and customer numbers corresponding to the profile you need.


You can search for new customers by other means:

Websites: Make a website and make it live, good search results position on specific keywords, buy advertising on Google that appear as sponsored links.
Spot advertisements: Newspapers, on radio, TV etc.


Perform a market survey: It helps you to clearly define the profile of your customers. To find customers, you can run promotional campaigns, offering discounts for a first purchase. You can also offer a trial period if your product is suitable. The customer loyalty is also very important; it allows you to function better word-of-mouth. You can offer loyalty cards or make discounts for large orders.
