The question of “how much input should I provide” is one that plagues every relationship between professionals and their clients, not just in the realm of website design. It is tempting to think that, having hired a competent ecommerce SEO company to design, build and optimize your website for you, you can now kick back and relax until your new website is up and running. The truth, however, is that if you want to have the best website possible, then your input is still very much a necessity throughout the design, building and optimization processes.

The reason for this is not difficult to understand. As the owner or manager of a business, there are few, if any, people who are in a better position to determine what is best for the business as a whole. You are also in the best position to provide information that the design company simply cannot acquire on its own.

Of course, if you were to simply leave the company to its own devices after engaging their services, you will still end up with a website. That website, however, will not be as good as it might have been if the company had had your input while it was ...
... building your website.

An example of this would be a business that offers services that could be patronized by members of either gender, but which for one reason or another attracts a mostly female clientele. The web design company you hire will not know this unless it is intimately familiar with the industry in which your business operate, and this is highly unlikely. A mostly female clientele will influence the best choices for various parts of your website, however, such as the layout, color scheme and tone of language. You would hardly want a website that simply oozes masculine machismo when that would be unattractive to female visitors.

Moreover, when your website has been built and the process of optimizing the content on the website begins, your input will be even more crucial. Decisions such as the number, type and variety of keywords that should form the focus of the search engine optimization are decisions that should be made by the SEO Company and yourself working in tandem. On its own, the company has a working knowledge of the market and industry trends but no idea of the limits of your finances or personal preferences. And on your own, you should have a good idea of what you want to achieve but no technical know-how to reach that objective. This is where a close working relationship will pay off.

Ultimately, your input is essential to the construction and optimization of a great website, but you should also refrain from attempting to micromanage the ecommerce SEO Company that you hire. Once you have provided the necessary input, leave the technical part of the process in their hands. Otherwise, you run the risk of delaying the project unnecessarily and perhaps even frustrating the designers to the extent that the end result is not as good as it could have been.

Resource Box:
Striking a balance between providing sufficient input and micromanaging is important, but that balance is only possible if your Ecommerce SEO Company is receptive to your input in the first place. That is why you should definitely consider engaging the services of TGS, for there is no other Website Design company that will give you a better experience designing, building and optimizing your website.
