Malicious software spyware and adware detection and removal are easier said than done. Unless an individual is computer savvy, the unsolicited problems leach onto some other download and the user is none the wiser.

Spyware removers and adware removal does not have to cost anything for the computer user. However, the programs are necessary to protect private information and the laptop or desktop itself. Spyware and adware are not simply a pain in the neck like junk mail or spam; the software can literally ruin lives.

So, what is the Internet user supposed to do, in order to protect the computer and safeguard personal information? Fortunately, programs are available to help.
However, sometimes the fix can be more harmful than the problem.

For example, last week I downloaded such a program for free. This program was supposed to protect me. When I ran it, quite naturally it discovered millions of threats. But to my surprise, the free lunch ended here, because the program asked to upgrade to the full version (which was $50), if I wanted the pests removed. What a blackmail!

Unfortunately, when I close the program, an icon on my quick launch keeps flashing messages like "someone may be spying on you" or "you are in danger of identity theft". Not willing to pay the fee for the full version and becoming increasingly annoyed by the flashing warnings, I decide I need to stop what I am doing and delete the program.

Ha! What a surprise! I couldnt uninstall it because my access was denied! This drove me mad was this my computer or was this the programs computer? Who had the right to decide what to install and uninstall me or the program? Eventually I found the solution restoring the system to a point prior to the moment when I installed this stupid program.

After this nasty experience, I was determined to find a reliable spyware and adware detection and removal program. I tried many programs and I liked Ad-aware best. I cant afford to spend much money and because of this it is not a problem that the free version they offer is from last year. In addition to the free version, Ad-aware offers Pro and Plus versions. Their prices are quite reasonable and I believe they have additional features and scan more types of files.

In my case only restoring the system to a cleaner state was the fix I needed. For me the most unpleasant was that this program was just what one should watch out for when downloading freeware and any other software. It turned out that it costs less to buy a reliable spyware and adware detection and removal program, then to expect help from freeware.

In short, if you spend any time at all visiting the Internet, your computer can use malicious software spyware and adware detection and removal. Despite best efforts, it is like a house without a screen door. The occasional bug will get into your computer, and you will need to get out the software fly swatter.
