India is a country that nurtures talents, especially child prodigies, who have earned a name for them self and for their parents along with making their city, state and country proud of them. Some kids are born talented and some develop to be one. It is difficult to recognize the talent hidden in them initially. It is up to the parents to recognize them and nurture them rightfully. Some kids may not be academically strong, but, would be masters in varied other fields, which makes them stand out from the crowd of individuals heading towards one particular direction.

However, it is natural for every parent to desire to hear appreciations for their kids from others, and when it does not happen they find every possible way to force the kid to take part in varied competitions and functions, so that they would win in at least one of them, which they could show off. But, they need to understand that, a kid needs to recognize the hidden talent, present within them by them self, and it should be the duty of the parents to encourage the kid to give shape to the talent and take to the next level, which would bring in recognition ...
... automatically.

Parents think that their kids are not talented and take them to get counseled by the pediatrician or even to enquire them about what needs to be given to them in terms of medicine for them to be at least academically brilliant. It is funny to know that, parents just want to be told that their child is a genius, or if not a genius, at least that he/she is special. They really do not want to see any imperfections in their kids, or if they even had to see them too, they didn't want to be told that they existed in their kids, not at least in front of many others. They would consider it a shame. Somehow, being told that their child had a flaw in them and if a doctor pointed it out, it meant that everyone else could see it too, and that made them imperfect as parents. And they would blame them self for not being good parents for their kids. They need to understand that every kid is a genius, some show their talent initially itself, and some much later. Every special thing is a talent, which needs to be nurtured further. Parents need to just keep in their mind, that, they must encourage their kids no matter what, instead of comparing them to other kids, as, every kid has a hidden talent in them which would definitely show up some day.
