More and more numbers of people are becoming health conscious day by day and this is applicable more for athletes. Various health experts have come up with reports that show the growing trend of fitness among aging athletes. Various sports have different levels of seniority and that decides who is a senior athlete and who is a master athlete. While in some sports a player after 30 years of age is considered as senior, in some sports a 50 years old athlete is considered as senior. The master level definitely comes much later when the athlete has abundant experience in the sport.

The nutrition demands for an athlete changes with his/her age. It is quite obvious that the nutrition that is required at young age will not be required later. There are special kinds of sports events that are hosted for senior and master athletes. This is the reason that these athletes need to maintain their fitness and nutrition in a proper manner. There are special exercises and training schedules for senior athletes and master athletes. This is done because with age the capacity of athletes to work hard decreases. As a result, they might get tired easily or might strain their muscles and body. With training schedules meant for senior and master players they can maintain a good body and high level of fitness as well. There are exercises that also help in psychological well being of a person. The various kinds of exercises also help in fighting various kinds of chronic ailments.

There are certain things that must be kept into consideration while dealing with a senior athlete or a master athlete. Age is a major factor that plays a crucial role in the same. The training regimen that is selected for the athletes should not be highly rigorous as that might put strain on the mind and the body of the athletes. It is also important to get consultation from a doctor before starting any exercise regimen.
