I will find out my retirement options and the best deal for me.

I will start to look at my personal finances with a view to retiring.

Another year is set to come to an end. Time therefore to indulge in the age-old tradition of making New Year resolutions. These have become a standing joke as we make promises to eat less, drink only non-alcoholic drinks, lose weight and get fit. We then generally promptly forget about them after a week, at the most! With the arrival of a New Year we are all a year nearer to retirement and drawing a pension. So I suggest that you make a New Year resolution to find out about your retirement options.

2011 has not been a good year financially for banks, retailers, manufacturers, lenders, the public sector and the population as a whole. It has been a year of doom and gloom, with the economic climate lurching from one crisis to another. Financial forecasts suggest that there is only more bad news to come, we have not hit rock bottom yet, there is still a lot of pain to come.

Unfortunately pensions have been hit, along with everything else. The latest information suggests ...
... that annuities will not perform well in 2012, that the interest which will be paid will be poor. Also it seems that some pension schemes are under threat. This is all bad news for prospective retirees. It is therefore crucial that people seek out professional help promptly so that they can begin immediately to plan a strategy for retiral. There are many options available and the advice is out there. So as part of your first New Year Resolution get pro-active and find out what is out there.

Your second New Year resolution is also a practical one and involves yourself. You really need to look at your incomings and outgoings before you think about retiring. What better time to look at the money coming in to your household over the next year, the money you spend regularly, any debt you have which you may be repaying? It is a brand New Year and the best time to begin this process. First thing tomorrow go and buy a notebook and on the first of January start making your records and calculations. This will pay dividends.

So no shirking, make these two New Year resolutions count for you, you will not regret it.

Don’t put it off this year if you are looking for Annuities and want to find the best annuity rates around speak to a financial advisor today.
