Medical assistants play key role in performing efficient tasks in any medical office. They are involved in almost everything from running the front office, to helping doctors with clinical procedures. Their work varies according to their degree and experience.

The training of a medical assistant plays key role in providing emotional support and the “human touch” in a medical environment. They put people at ease at the doctor's office. Physicians are busy people and patients are often afraid of asking them "silly" questions even when they do not fully understand the medical terminologies that the doctor uses. Medical assistant help in filling the communication gap between doctors and patients. If they are employed to a larger clinic means they have the larger scope of work.
