Grizzly Types of Bears which has a scientific name of Ursus arctos horribilis can be commonly called silvertip bear and is one of the subspecies of brown bear that lives in North America.

Grizzly Bears usually roams across the continent of North America for more than millions of years ago and it's outlived the saber toothed tiger and even the mastodon. Grizzly Types of Bears is one of the targets and subjects of hunters and unfortunately their species are extinct because of hunting and poaching. If you wanted to see grizzly Bears, then you can find them in forested areas of Alaska, Canada, Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho.

The famous term of grizzly refers to the white tipped frosted hairs of the bear that can be seen in Rocky mountains. The color of the fur ranges from gray to yellow brown and dark brown and some of them is colored black as well. Their color usually depends on the habitat they are currently in and the climate as well.

Grizzly bears are known to be omnivorous by which they eat anything like honey, ants, fish and whales. They may also eat elk, carrion, foxes and squirrels as well. But almost 90% of the foodstuff they eat is vegetarian. Just like other Bears is that they are solitary but gathers together with fellow bears in the banks and upstream to catch fish especially during salmon's breeding time when the fish are attempting to swim upstream to breed. These bears mate during May and July and male bears usually find their mate by utilizing their sense of smell.
