How To Keep Your Spa Clean

Hot tub spas have been increasingly becoming popular due to the stress-relieving effects they have on the human body. Whereas a hot tub spa works as a great stress buster, it relaxes your tensed muscles to give you an entirely new feeling of freshness. Good thing is that you don’t need to spend a lot of money or time in order to maintain your hot tub; all you need is a little care and awareness of the right way of cleaning and maintaining it.
Here are few quick tips about how you should maintain your hot tub spa:
1. Make sure you do not use oil or soap based products to clean your hot tub. They usually consist of ammonia or soda based ingredients, which can end up causing development of bubbles even in the crystal clear water. It’s also wise to not use the regular household cleaning liquids to clean your hot tub either.
2. Do not use the bathing costumes that might have residues of soap left in them as a result of an incomplete wash. In order to ensure that the washing detergent does not enter your spa, it is useful to rinse your bathing suits once again after washing them.
3. Make sure ...
... that the cosmetics or personal hygiene products do not enter your hot spa. For example, hair sprays, gels, hair mousse, deodorant, lotions, too much sweat, foundation, creams, soaps or dyes on your skin or your bathing suits may end up making the water cloudy and foamy. This can reduce the overall life of the filters and end up increasing the overall maintenance costs.
4. Use the sponges that can absorb oil while floating on water. They can absorb oil and prevent it from reaching the filter. To clean the sponges, you can just take them out, squeeze them to rinse oil and water, and clean them with plain clean water occasionally.
5. Check the pH value and alkalinity of the spa water at a frequency of once per week. Also, you should conduct this little test after adding new water as well. This will ensure that your skin and your hot tub, both are protected from the chemical imbalances present in the water. You can use the test strips that are easily available in the market to test the pH value of the spa water.
Maintaining your spa doesn’t have to be an expensive affair as you can understand by reading the simple tips listed above. However, these little tips can ensure a long life of your hot tub spa without drilling a hole in your pocket.
