Reward Schemes
If you are looking for a way to motivate your workforce you could do a lot worse than set up reward schemes. However, as with most things in business is very important that you do it right. Simply putting together the first scheme that comes to mind is far from the best idea. Doing so can result in a reward scheme that costs the company too much money or takes too much time to administer. In the worst-case scenario instead of motivating the workforce it can de-motivate them. Why Reward Schemes Work So Well The reason that reward schemes work so well is simply that they feed into basic human nature. Everybody likes to be appreciated for the work that they do. People respond well to being told that they did a good job and to being thanked for doing so. Unfortunately, most bosses do not have the time to recognise good work and personally thank each worker for that good work. Reward schemes get around this problem because they are tied to a measurable target and automatically reward the workers each time they meet a target. Giving a reward tells your workers that they have met a target and that you are pleased with them for ...
... doing so. Getting a reward for good work is a big motivation for most workers. The Easiest Way to Set Up Reward Schemes The easiest reward schemes are those that give each worker points for certain achievements which, when they have accrued enough points, can be exchanged for items they want. Fortunately, some High Street retailers are willing to help firms to put together reward schemes for their workers. The best of these reward schemes are very easy to setup. The retailer puts together a website of items, each with a point value against them. You add each worker to the database and as they earn points you update the database to reflect the level of points they have earned. When the worker has earned sufficient points they choose a item they want and use the points they have accrued to purchase it in lieu of money.
Argos For Business have been putting together reward schemesfor UK companies for 30 years now. They offer schemes that are simple for companies to administer and cost very little.
