Events jobs are amongst the most interesting jobs you could ever hold. If you have ever seen movies such as ‘Father of the Bride’ or ‘The Wedding Planner’, then you may know a little about the type of things involved in events jobs. Of course, these films centre around wedding planning but there are so many more areas to be explored when it comes to events jobs too.

Live Events

Events jobs which involve the planning of a live event such as a wedding, concert or charity auction, for example, fall into this category. Anyone who wishes to work in this industry will need to have a good eye for detail and be able to plan and manage events on a large scale. They will need to be quick thinking as well as being extremely organised. Events jobs such as this can be very lucrative for anyone who is hard working and good at the job.

Event Marketing

If you are more the creative type than someone who is good with logistical planning, then events jobs which centre around the marketing of events rather than the planning of them could be an area to explore. Careers in event marketing can be very rewarding ...
... but they take a special kind of person to succeed. You will need to be good with words and creating ideas which will help to get events noticed.

AV Jobs

Most events will need sound or video equipment. If you are skilled in these areas, you could work behind the scenes setting up all of the video conferencing equipment or sound systems at large events. Working backstage can be very rewarding and you can meet some great people and performers during the course of your work. You will most likely need some relevant qualifications in order to get this kind of work, but if you have the technical qualifications needed, this can be a very exciting line of work.

Sales

Events jobs which are concerned with sales are very popular. They are great for anyone who has worked in sales before. Your main duties will be to sell things such as exhibition space, event sponsorship etc.
