First let me say that this is not my only winter coat and that I purchased it for the stylish v fur hood. I am a size twelve so I ordered the large. It was too big but since shipping was 120$, I decided to have it altered to fit. Likes: more length on it then most coats so it is warmer; hood looks great and gets tons of compliments; warm because of high down feather content; deep zippered pockets are warm for hands and good storage. Dislikes: lower half of jacket is flared and must be taken in to ensure warmth; hood is too large and flies off when windy; occassional feather leakage. Even with 180$ additional costs it was less than the" in department store" version which is 500-600$. But in a snowstorm I definitely grab my other hooded coat instead of this.

I just got this jacket and am so pleased with it. It fits nice and snug and the color is beautiful. I got red, but it is not a bright red, it is beautiful though. The inside of the pockets are fleeced lined. It is 30 degrees outside with 30 mile winds and this jacket keeps me warm. The real test is when it is is -30 out. The jacket is worth the $.

... this jacket but in the month that I have had it, the seams have split apart under the pockets, the velcro is coming off and today a button that keeps the hood on has broken off. I am so bummed because this jacket has kept me very warm in my cold -11 degree weather (I no longer live in CA). I sort of want to get another one because I really do like the style and the jacket but am nervous to go through this again.

This Mercury Maven jacket is a very attractive, practical, functional winter jacket that's well worth the price. With the 550 fill power, this jacket is very light, non-bulky, and soft to the touch, but highly protective against the wind and chill, and keeps me toasty warm even in the coldest winter weather we are having here in Northern California. Now that I have this jacket, I can enjoy my outdoor winter activities so much more. I got it in Red Element, and love this chic dark orange color as it goes with just about everything I wear. I wished it were a tad roomier around the hip, but suppose I could trim down being active in this jacket all winter long.

I was expecting to have to try on at least 4 jackets before picking the one that would have all the criteria I wanted in a winter coat, but I cannot believe the first one I chose is PERFECT! What I love: the red color, is slightly deep and not a fire-truck red at all; the jacket is thin but is the warmest I've ever had (I've been wearing it with only a T-shirt underneath and end up sweating in 30 degree weather!); it tapers a bit at the wrist and under the bottom part to keep air from flowing in, which is amazing; detachable hood, love that; the overall fit- it fits me like a glove and is comfortable. What I don't like: nothing. The only thing that I would have to say is that I am a tiny framed person, and it fits me like a glove, I can see how a more curvy girl might have issues with this fitting the right way. I could not possibly be more surprised, every time I put it on, I'm expecting to find some flaw...haven't found one yet!
