The meat of Six Sigma training, though, is the DMAIC procedure. In this procedure, a series of steps, involving analysis, measurement comparison and modification are put into place to isolate a problem in a process, solve it, and prevented in the future.
Each step of this procedure includes a series of calculations, forms, and even potentially software which are also part of the training. Ultimately, entry-level Six Sigma certification requires a ballet month of reading, followed by a test of the knowledge. Unlike other, older forms of quality assurance and problem solving methodology, the generic nature of Six Sigma allows it to be very easy to teach, due to its lack of dependence on intrinsic concepts unique to any particular field.
