Mussoorie is a charming hill station in the state of Uttarakhand, India and is often referred as the ‘queen of hills’. This beautiful hill station is located 35 kilometres from the state capital Dehradun. Mussoorie was first developed by the colonial rulers of India as a military outpost and later it became a popular summer resort for the British officers. Mussoorie is famous for its green hills and flora and fauna. This beautiful hill station provides an extensive view of Himalayan ranges and beautiful Doon Valley. This small quaint hill station is highly popular with North Indian domestic tourists and on every summer season, large number of tourist flocked this beautiful hill station. The main street is known as the Mall and it stretches from Picture Palace at its eastern end to the Public Library at its western end. Large number of Tibetans arrived in Mussoorie during the 1959 Tibetan Rebellion. The Central Tibetan Administration of the 14th Dalai Lama was at first established in Mussoorie before being moved to its present location in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh. Tibetans settled mainly in Happy Valley in Mussoorie. ...

This winter, enjoy a short weekend break in Mussoorie and admire the charm of this beautiful hill station. Mussoorie receives snow fall and the temperature often falls below 0° C but this is also the time when you don’t have jostle with the maddening tourist crowd of summer season. Whatever you do, you will always cherish the experience in Mussoorie which during the winters resembles like a fairy land.
