Maharashtra Tourism – Land Of Beauty, History And Religion

Maharashtra tourism is very famous throughout Indian and all across the World. Maharashtra is an Indian State and the 4th most visited tourist spot by domestic tourists. International tourists also visit Maharashtra in large numbers every year. Aurangabad has been proclaimed as the tourist capital of Maharashtra by Maharashtra tourism.
The State capital Mumbai is a city which is often visited. It is teeming with activities and alive with people from various backgrounds. It is considered to be the Eastern equivalent of New York and Los Angeles as it is the financial and entertainment capital of the country. It houses the world famous film industry Bollywood. The tourism capital, Aurangabad is famed for the Ajanta and Ellora caves which house giant statues of Buddha carved in stone. Beautiful stone carvings also depict ancient Buddhist lives.
Nagpur is famed for its oranges and comfortable winters. It also houses a beautiful Buddhist stupa at Deekhabhumi and is often visited by tourists. Other places of interest include Takadi Ganesh Mandir, Maharajbagh zoo, Futala Lake Chowpati and Raman Science Center.
Nasik is a holy city and mostly visited by pilgrims. It is also very picturesque and boasts of a very pleasant climate. The city houses a number of beautiful temples and is famed as the city where Lord Rama spent the fourteen years of his exile. It is also popularly known as the “Wine capital” and the “Grape City” of India. The Godavari River originates from here.
In West Maharashtra Satara is the city to visit. Mahabaleshwara, Wai and Panchgani are some of the places here that have captivated tourists with its beauty. The Rivers Koyna and Krishna add to this famous city’s beauty.
Maharashtra boasts of a large number of popular and revered religious places like Shirdi, the temple of Sai Baba, Tuljabhavani temple at Tuljapur, Gajanan Maharaj temple at Shegaon, Mahalakshmi temple in south Mumbai, Hajiali, a popular mosque in the seas near the Mahalakshmi temple, Mount Mary church in the suburb of Bandra, Sarasbaugh Ganpati Mandir, a temple in a pond, Dagdusheth Halwai and Ganpati.Osho Asharam.
Maharashtra is very scenic and picturesque. Its natural beauty is augmented by the many forts, palaces and other historical buildings dotting the State. Tourists can also enjoy numerous activities like trekking, scuba diving, paragliding, parasailing, wild life safari and rock climbing.
Maharashtra has a number of airports and is very well connected by roads and air. As a tourist spot it boasts of a number of accommodations to suit all budgets.
