Leadership is considered the art of influencing and directing team members in order to empower effective working relationships based on cooperation, confidence, respect and communication. The notion is the most reliable foundation that enables the development of a a healthy attitude among team members who join their efforts toward achieving a common goal. Leadership is also a broad concept which follows certain well-established principle which are mixed with various techniques providing a successful combination of leadership and management which can be applied to any business ensuring its success.

Yet there are still many people who do not pay the needed attention and given the incredible resistance to change of individuals, a new concept has been developed: fusion leadership which is based on a set of hypothesis aiming to help leaders and organizations to deal with conventional thinking and to have a modern approach when it comes to traditional hierarchies. Generally, fusion is a term used to define a certain style of management which encompasses ideas of creating connections and partnerships, reducing barriers and motivating people to share information, to take together transcending these barriers. This concept is aiming to create a sense of unity due to the fact that people share a common vision and they implement a specific strategy to achieve a common objective. Each individual is unique but he is treated as a whole and consequently, fusion crates a working environment where all the team members can work together in harmony in spite off these differences. People have certain defense mechanism and involuntary they are always trying to protect their space and resist to change so the goals of this concept are participation, empowerment, consensus, teamwork and team building.

A strong organization should never stand still. It should grow and develop in order to deal with the increasing demand of their stakeholders. Consequently, the concept as well as the process of management and Lederudvikling are constantly evolving and therefore both leaders and managers need to develop certain skills in order to respond adequately in this change. Knowing the requirements and the potential of the organization and its members is the first step that opens the tricky road of change. Leaders with vision and perspectives choose a management philosophy based on the notion of fusion and they use either organizational strong forces or personal subtle forces to go closer toward their vision. The first type of forces includes SMART objectives, budgets, financial outcomes, performance appraisal and technical processes efficiency and they are focused on controlling business processes while personal forces are less measurable and visible because they mainly refer to inner traits such as passions, motivation, creativity, enthusiasm as well as moral principles, values and organizational culture. Information, innovation and development represent subtle forces that enable people to change although they are not visible or quantifiable. Within organization, the concept of Lederudvikling is used to release those subtle forces employing the intellectual, spiritual and emotional abilities and understandings of each individual and to highlight their talents in order to create a change and a positive impact within organization and society.
