Karvi trees dot the mountain ranges and when it flowers once in every seven years it makes the mountain scenery come alive with beauty. Five kilometers away from Amboli tourists can enjoy fishing and angling in the Hiranykeshi River. The River site is also known as a pilgrimage site for Shiva devotees. The caves near the river are also famed for holding seven ponds and a mysterious throne in it.
The Napne waterfall is a must visit for swimmers as it makes for a delightful swim. The waterfall is safe and clean. Visitors can also walk to the origin of the waterfall or simply sit and marvel at the surrounding beauty and scenery which is home for rare and exotic birds. Hornbill can often be sighted here. Sindhudurg is also famed for its many beaches. The Walawal creek is delightful as it offers the view of both the setting sun in the West and the rising moon in the East as reflections on the water at the same time.
A visit to Sindhudurg is incomplete without a visit to the Sindhudurg fort. The fort was built in the 17th centuey by Marathas and still houses some families in it today. Visitors can enjoy the water reservoirs, a hidden passage, a hand and footprint of Shivaji and a Shivaji temple, the only one in the world.
