Manali: Summer in the Himalayas

Manali is a beautiful town that is located in the state of Himachal Pradesh in India. Situated in the Kullu Valley, the weather in town is pleasant and many tourists visit the town every year because of the wonderful scenery here and the adventure sports that one can take part in on a trip to this beautiful town. There are a number of great places to see here and many hotels in Manali offer some great accommodation to the different kinds of tourists that visit the town often.

Manali is well connected to most places in the state, as well as to a number of places that are located in other states nearby. Getting to Manali is easy as there are a number of buses, trains and taxis traveling here every day. Because of its location in the Himalayas, it is popular for its wonderful scenery and the temperatures are always low in the town, making it one of the best places to spend the summer. There are a number of great activities at the town and a number of tourists that come here every year like to take part in the trekking that is organized in town. There are also other great adventure sports found at Manali, including skiing and paragliding, which are popular with tourists and the best place to take part in these sports is at the Solang Valley. Paragliding only takes place in summer and skiing is the big attraction here during the winter months. Rock Climbing is another great sport one can take part in here and there are a number of places in town where one can find equipment for the sport. There are also a number of wonderful places to see in town, like the Hadimba Temple, which is a cave temple surrounded by forests.

The Art Gallery is another wonderful place to visit on a trip to the town and one can do some shopping at Mall Road, which has many shops that sell a variety of products, the most famous products available here being the woolen goods like sweaters, shawls and blankets.
