The File Allocation Table (FAT) and New Technology File System are storage partitions which store the entire data of Operating System. The system divides the information in partitions before assigning it disk space. The first FAT version was introduced by Bill gates first. Start Windows RE for using the Bootrec.exe tool. Insert the Windows Installation disc in the CD ROM. Enter the key when the system prompts you to do so. Select next and configure the language, time, place and currency. Then choose the operating system which needs to be repaired. Enter Bootrec.exe tool in the prompt to open it. /FixMbr
