There are many reasons one can provide to explain why visor warning lights are still so important even though manufacturers of emergency lighting products are coming up with innovative and advanced light bars all the time. These compact emergency lighting systems can be easily mounted inside or outside the emergency vehicle within a minute’s notice. By doing so, they offer portability and flexibility. That is something which is not always the stronger point of massive emergency light bars. In cases, where fire rescue volunteers need to speed through traffic, such lights could prove really useful. Similarly, when an unmarked vehicle, participating in a covert operation, needs a secondary line of warning, these lights fit the bill perfectly.

visor warning lights usually come with 2 or 4 LED modules or light heads. The rectangular LED modules are quite common specifically because they can accommodate more super bright LEDs while still staying slim. Part of the utility of these warning lights is because they are very slim, sometimes thinner than couple of inches. However, that doesn’t take anything away ...
... from their performance, as the super bright LEDs pack a punch in the beams they generate. Clear, diffusing lenses and parabolic deflectors are used to achieve two things with these beams. Firstly, the beams are widened for greater coverage. Secondly, the beams are enhanced in quality so, that they can be directed to travel for a longer distance.

The clear Fresnel lenses that are used are virtually undetectable when the lights are not turned on. Simple but highly effective slide in lenses are also used with some emergency lighting equipment. A very interesting feature of dash mounted lights, visor warning lights and headliner or rear deck lights is that some of them come with sync ports. Even sync interconnectors can be used to make sure that these emergency lights flash in sync with each other. When the time comes, multiple emergency lighting fixtures, which operate as standalone units and are compact, can be grouped to operate and provide a single powerful warning signal. The sleek lights offer focused beams without drawing more than 1 Ampere of current in the circuits. A 2 segment visor light that can be mounted behind the visor, with Velcro straps without the need to drill holes on the vehicle surface can have as many as 24 LEDs.

visor warning lights are effective and useful not just because of their warning beams but also because of their flash patterns. HiLo and rapid blinking patterns can be really effective irrespective of whether the lights are in the front or in the rear. A simple cigar plug adapter is used for power supply, while a slide position or rotary switch can help in quickly changing the flash patterns if need be. Thin visor lights, which could be around 6 – 8 inches in length and weighing less than 2 – 4 lbs, could be temporarily mounted using magnets or mounting clips as well. Traffic advisor arrows can also be flashed from some of these, making them even more useful.
