Sizzling Seychelles
With its extensive verdant landscape and wider azure seascape, Seychelles is the place to be for those who want to kick their blues away. One simply cannot avoid becoming romantically poetic at the sight of paradise.
Believed to be the original location of the biblical Garden of Eden, agnostics and atheists alike would definitely bleed their noses out in trying to convince a single soul that such a pristine and immaculate piece of earth results from a big bang in universe. Basking in the beauty of nature, one would find it pretty much easier to believe that the place was orchestrated by magic wands in skillful fairy's hands of far away tales and dreams.
Seychelles is a tropical archipelago of 115 emeralds scattered in the Indian Ocean with a total land mass area of 455 square kilometers, half of which is devoted to national parks and reserves. The islands are home to two World Heritage Sites endorsed by UNESCO namely, the Vallée de Mai on Praslin and Aldabra. The former is host to the amazing Coco-de-mer nut which is admired for its unique shape while the latter is a raised coral atoll, which is the world's ...
... largest and was first viewed by 9th century Arab sailors.
Located 930 miles to the east of the continent of Africa, it counts as neighbors the equally enchanting islands of Zanzibar, Mauritius, Reunion, Comoros, Mayotte, Suvadive and Maldives. Seychelles, which holds the record for having the smallest population among the sovereign states throughout Africa, therefore makes a perfect jump off point and home base for island hopping around the Indian Ocean.
Although the islands is a welcome refuge to every tired soul and body, with the ocean to explore, the forests to trek and white sands to walk on, tourists would not want to be lying around lazy. Getting a tan on the sand, swimming on warm waters, snorkeling out at sea that offers visibility of more than 30 meters and diving into another world are just among the things that keep visitors occupied and craving for more.
Proclaimed as the last frontier of natural biodiversity, Seychelles is sanctuary to many of the earth's rarest flora and fauna species. The world's smallest living frog specie, the world's largest seed and the endangered Seychelles Black Paradise Flycatcher are among the treasures that are endemic to the islands.
Indeed, after threshing out imagination from reality, Seychelles is what dreams have become.
