Shimla having enjoyed the status of being the summer capital of during the British Regime it is now a renowned summer getaway for Indian tourist as well as a popular honeymooner’s spot of India. After reaching Shimla tourists needn’t worry about accommodation option as Shimla hotels offer a bouquet of hotels varying from heritage, luxury and budget hotels to homes stays. However advance bookings need to be done during peak season as hotels get quite crowded and also expensive during these times. A few of the popular hotels of the region include Hotel Gulmarg, Hotel Dreamland, Woodville Palace, Clarke’s Hotel, Oberoi Cecil and the Radisson Hotel Shimla.
Finally a must do while in Shimla is to buy the local specialties like jams, jellies and other processed foods as Himachal Pradesh is the centre of food processing industry, local wines, handicrafts, woolen garments and much more.
