Manali Sight Seeing Destinations
Manali tucked away in the Beas River valley it is one of the major hill station of Himachal Pradesh. This hill draws in tourists from all over India and rest of the world not only because of its pristine natural beauty but also its adventure sports activity. Manali is home to a range of adventure sports from trekking, white water rafting to paragliding and much more.
Once a quaint little town, Manali is now a cosmopolitan bustling with activity. Manali also occupies quite significance as it is said to be the abode of the ‘Saapt Rishis.’ There are several temples and monasteries dotting the landscape of this hill station. Beside these the town also offers several interesting sights and sceneries to its tourists for some light entertainment.
One of the most notable places of interest in Manali is the Rohtang Pass. Hired taxis are available from snow point and pass is just 16 kms from here. Situated at an altitude of 3979 m it offers a commanding view of the mountains rising far above the clouds.

... spring out here which is the origin source of River Beas. Then there is also the Hidimba Temple also a popular tourist destination as well as a place of worship dedicated to Hidimbi Devi. Built in around 1553 it is a cave temple with cedar forest surrounding it.
Maa Sharvari Temple is another popular attraction as well as an important place of worship. The Temple is dedicated to an incarnation of Goddess Durga and is also referred to as KULDEVI by the Kullu Kings. Finally another important temple dating back centuries is the Gauri Shankar Temple, it isa 12th century protected monument in the village of Dashal.
Other Manali attractions include Vashist Hot Water Springs and Temple, Solang Valley popularly known as Snow Point, it offers splendid views of the snow clad mountains and glaciers, Rahal Waterfalls, Rozy Falls, Old Monali, Kothi, Nehru Kund, club house,café juniper, Jagatsukh and monasteries. Manali is quite renowned for its shiny gompas or monasteries.
While on a trip to Manali a must do would include skiing, zorbing, river rafting, snow scootering, trekking, river crossing and paddle boating. And yes don’t forget to shop for local specialties of food products, honey, apricot oil and other handicrafts.
