National Institute of Design (NID) is the prestigious institute offering course in the field of design. NID is known as the best institute not only in India but in

whole Asia. It carries out entrance examination for the people who wanted to pursue a career in Design, called National Entrance Examination for Design (NID NEED). The

NID NEED constitutes of three aptitude test with each paper constitutes of 60 marks. The exam evaluates the candidate’s aptitude and creativity. The test also examines

the candidate’s innovative and critical analyzing power of the applicant. The test areas include Worldview, Mental Ability, Drawing, Creativity etc. The written examination is followed by Studio test and personal interview in which students portfolio is seen and interview is taken.
Eligibility for candidate to apply for NID entrance exam for UG programme is 10+2 or its equivalent and for PG the candidate is any bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.

... and even available at Axis Bank. Demand draft Rs.1500/- (for general category) and Rs.750/- (for reserved category) is to be sent by post to NID along with its form. Form of NID exam is to be filled very carefully, even one mistake in the form can cancel the admission.
NID entrance exam is usually conducted on second week of January every year. To get admission in desired college like NID it is necessary to get above 70% in entrance exam. The upper age limit for applying for UG programme at NID is 20 years and for PG programme is 27 years. There are 5 major departments in NID post graduation program such as Industrial Design, Communication Design, IT Integrated Design, Interdisciplinary Design, Textile Design . Students can choose any field according to their choice. There are total 18 different types of sub programs under post graduation at NID like Product Design, Furniture and interior Design etc. in Industrial, Graphic Design, Animation Film Design in Communication Design etc.
At NID the under graduation program is of four years and post graduation program is of two and half years.
