Who doesn't recognize the name of Jeep? It is a word associated with not only the thrill of adventurous rides but also riding on a vehicle that is considered one of the best. This is a brand that is known by several names, like the Wrangler, the Rubicon, the Cherokee, the Wagoneer and several more.

If you are going to jog through memory lane, you will know that Jeep has been through a lot of wars. It was a four-by-four utility vehicles favored by the soldiers in World War II and it was such a huge success that after the war left the Philippines, whatever left over vehicles were soon converted into public utility vehicles which gave birth to the all-Filipino “jeepney.”

Moving on to the fifties, the Jeep Jambories was launched to the market by those who want the world to know what an excellent vehicle it was even on areas that aren't stricken with war. At this time, there was engineering innovation involved which paved the way to the release of seven other models and it was the beginning of partnership between the company as well as the driving public.

The Cherokee was released in the 1970’s and it has left such an impression that way into the next decade of the 21st century, people still think of the Cherokee as the ultimate of Jeep designs. By this time, the brand was known throughout the world and earned more prestige with the various awards received for the efficiency of the models. There were six models of the Cherokee launched at this time and they made waves throughout the world.

The 1980’s showed the world that what the previous Cherokee models had was much more improved with this decade’s release. This is the decade when the Cherokee XJ revolutionized the four-by-four market by introducing a series of “firsts” like the compact four-door SUV, the construction of the first UniFrame, the very first full four-by-four system that came with the shift-on-the-fly.

By 1990’s, it was already unquestionable that Cherokee ZJ dominated the market when it pertains to on and off road applications. Then there was also the release of Wrangler TJ with its revolutionary coil suspension as well as the Grand Cherokee WJ which became big in the SUV market.

Nowadays, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is considered to be the ultimate vehicle. It is the best of the best of all of the releases in Jeep History and it has taken the motorists by storm. There are the smaller versions, the Compass and the Patriot.
