You can find out whether or not you are suffering from depression by observing changes in your physiological, emotional or behavioral changes.
Depression in any form is dangerous and has the potential to unleash a lot of other disease with the time. If it is not treated the patient can suffer from mental disorders too. However, unlike other disease where your physiology suffers and you get alarmed, it is very hard to detect whether or not you are going under depression. Let us try to understand the symptoms so that we can figure it out in the early stage and start responding to it either naturally or with the help of anxiety treatment.
The first visible symptom is lack of sleep or irregular sleep cycle. So, you might remain awake whole night just sitting and thinking wayward things and you will remain sleeping during the day. But this is not the only symptom because insomnia, in itself, is a disease rather it is one of them. Other important symptom is lack of interest in regular activities. So you might not feel like going to office or anywhere else instead ...
... you will like remaining alone and sulking. You might not want to make friends or even socialize so parties or social activity might become a strict no-no.
Remember, clinical depression is not only about feeling sad for few days but it can affect your eating habits, moods, activities and performance too. Therefore it becomes necessary to come out of it. It is just like a vicious circle, you get entangled once and without your realization you will go deeper and deeper till you reach the critical point of insanity or being insane too.
Some of the important physical changes or people suffering from depression can be loss of appetite, irregular sleep cycles and routine, low energy and fatigue, digestive problems etc. Then you can also be alarmed by the behavioral changes like loss of interest in sex and entertainment, problems in concentrating, problems in taking decisions etc.
Depression has some emotional changes too, like you might develop suicidal tendency, irritation with any event. You might also remain sad on almost continuous basis and you will feel hopeless without any enthusiasm for life many times. If these things are happening to you then it is just the right time to be alarmed and start fighting depression in natural ways or by taking to the anxiety medicine as prescribed by the doctor. Remember this disease should be combated at an early stage because you might have lots of problems in later stages.
