One of the most exciting hobbies today for children and adults alike is RC driving. RC refers to either “remote control” or “radio control”, depending on what basic form it is based on – the toy type or the kit type. The toy type RC cars are those that you see generally sold at electronic toy stores and advertised on TV cartoon shows. These are what are referred to as remote control. The kit type cars or trucks are those that you can only buy from specialized hobby shops or through mail order. These kits can be build-it-yourself or ready to run. These are the radio control cars or trucks.

RC cars can be off road RC trucks, RC buggies, RC military and RC construction models. RC driving is more popular than flying an aircraft or running a boat. Remote control cars can be operated in many areas such as the yard, on the street where there is no traffic. Driving can also be done on the driveway or on a track that has been specially built. Whereas, aircrafts need a designated area and more space; and a boat should naturally be run on a body of water.

Perhaps you were involved in RC driving hobby, when ...
... you were younger and may have owned several RC cars, but as you grow older, you gave up the hobby. Today, driving a remote control or radio control car is becoming popular again. If you are looking to buy a remote controlled car because you want to go back to your old hobby, you can get into it without needing much money. The cars produced today are faster, requires little maintenance and much more affordable.

If you only want to entertain your child or yourself, you can get RC toy type for something like $100 or a little bit more. If you want a vehicle that you can race, a hobby-grade car, you can get the kit type. These types may cost around $120, and they are ready to run, or pre-assembled and can be put to race straight out from the box. If you want to go into RC driving a bit deeply, get the fast cars that are the winning class. You will not need to pay more than $400 for it.

At the present economy, you might want to save some money and still enjoy your remote control driving hobby on the higher level. There are really cheap cars that you can depend on to win at races.
