You may be tired of seeing posters here and there advertising everything from the newest cellular phone technology up to the latest sales in malls nearest you. You will never be able to escape these commercial printing products, though, because everyday commercial printing companies churn out hundreds to thousands of these posters for many different customers. Thus, it may be a breath of fresh air for you to see a different side of posters such as interesting things you never knew or heard. Che Guevara poster. I am assuming that you know of the famous Che Guevara and his iconic photo known as Heroic Guerrilla. This red, white, and black poster was made by Jim Fitzpatrick, an Irish artist, in 1968 and can be considered as one of the most memorable and iconic images in world history. U.S. post offices used to post FBI’s Most Wanted posters. Yes, I am fairly certain that you remember a time when you went to the post office to see a terrorist’s face looming back at you. This is because post offices only started to forgo putting up these posters in recent years, around the year 2009. Of course, you could still request to be able to see these most wanted posters because these posters are still kept in binders behind the counter, but gone are the times when you feel the urgency of catching these criminals just so that you won’t see their faces every time you mail a letter. If you are lucky—or unlucky—enough to be living in a fairly rural community, your post office might still have these posters up, though.

Posters already existed in the time of Shakespeare. This is a fact, but you shouldn’t expect that the posters back then were the same as the commercial printing customers being produced today. The posters back then—usually used to advertise the plays of Shakespeare or for some other political purpose—were actually composed entirely out of text and were a far cry from the colorful, mass printed posters of today. However, it was not long before mass commercial printing techniques were developed and the days of hand-made posters became a thing of the distant past.
