Parcel Couriers May See Spike In Activity Over Christmas
Many businesses rely on courier services to help them get their goods out to customers. However, over the upcoming festive season, firms may be even more reliant on parcel couriers.
It has been suggested that companies will be particularly eager to boost their levels of sales over coming weeks in a bid to compensate for lower activity during previous months.
Figures released by the Office for National Statistics reveal that UK retail sales volumes over the three months to September fell by 0.2 per cent. Firms suffered particularly during August as a result of the riots in England.
Meanwhile, although sales rose annually by 5.4 per cent in terms of value, they were up just 0.6 per cent in volume.
These statistics echo those released by the British Retail Consortium (BRC), which also suggest that growth in sales values are being driven by inflation as opposed to increased business.
Director general of the BRC Stephen Robertson said: "Even the slightest growth is good to see in these tricky times but the combination of high inflation and last year's VAT rise means there is little real growth ...
... here to cheer the retail sector."
He added: "Christmas has always been the most important time for retail but this year is going to be particularly critical as businesses look to make up lost ground. Customers can expect to benefit from extremely fierce competition for their spending."
In order to make the most of this traditionally busy time for enterprise, it is vital that firms ensure they have access to superb quality courier services. After all, if their parcel couriers fail to provide the necessary standard of service, they may struggle to keep up with demand and to achieve the necessary level of customer satisfaction.
Thankfully, it is now easier than ever before to source fantastic parcel delivery provisions.
