The city of Mumbai was named the Alpha world city in 2009 and it is the most populous city of India, having the highest GDP not only in India but also in South, West and Central Asia. Apart from this, it is also an education hub of the country, boasting colleges that provide courses and programmes in arts, commerce, science, engineering, law, technical studies, management studies, applied arts, media and many more.
