Andaman and Nicobar Islands is a dream destination for naturalist. It is noted for its clean environment, greenery and unpolluted fresh air. The islands have its own unique eco-system and are famous for their evergreen tropical rainforest, corals, fishes and other marine life. The Islands have long stretches of white powdery sand dotted by crescent shaped virgin beaches. The beaches are covered by thick groves of coconut tree and various other trees. Breathtaking natural beauty, clean environment, pristine beaches and opportunity to engage in adventure sports are the attractions of Andaman and Nicobar islands.
Andaman and Nicobar Islands is an archipelago of about six hundred islands lying in South west Bay of Bengal. The islands that are main attractions of Andaman Tourism are Jolly Buoy, Cinque Island, Red Skin Island, Havelock Island, Barren Island, Ross Island, Viper Island and Chatham Island.

Cinque Island offers spectacular views of underwater coral gardens. There are also numerous virgin beaches. The attraction of a sand bar joining two islands is alluring. It is a superb place for scuba diving, swimming, fishing and camping.
Red Skin Island is another island in Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park. The island homes a nice beach and offers fascinating view of corals and marine life.
Havelock island is situated near Port Blair, the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It provides an idyllic resort marked by a virgin beach and unpolluted environment. Camping facility is available near Radhanagar beach.
Barren Island is the land of volcano. The island homes the only active volcano in India. The big crater of the volcano rises abruptly from the sea about half kilometer from shore.
Ross Island was the capital of Andaman and Nicobar islands during British rule. The old structure now deserves the status of ruins. A small museum exhibiting relics of British past is there in the island.
Viper Island is where British used to keep convicts. The first jail was built here but was later abandoned after the construction of cellular jail. There is gallows at the top of a hillock where sentenced convicts were hanged.
Chatham Island homes the main mainland-island harbor. A tiny island, connected by a bridge built over sea water, houses one of the biggest and oldest saw mill in Asia.
The main beaches in Andaman and Nicobar giving impetus to Tourism in Andaman are Corbyn’s cove, Radhanagar, Harminder Bay, Karmatang and Ramnagar.

The Cellular jail, located at Port Blair is the only historical monument of note. This is where many of the freedom fighters were jailed and tortured.
Other important tourist places in Andaman are Neil Island, Cong Island, Rangat, Mayabunder, Diglipur, Little Andaman Island, Car Nicobar, Katchal, Great Nicobar, Mahtma Gandhi Marine National Park, Gandhi Park, Sippighat farm, Chiddiya Tapu, Collinpur, Madhubhan, Mount Harriet and a mini zoo in Port Blair.
Chidiya Tapu and Mount Harriet are excellent picnic sites. Chidiya Tapu is the southernmost tip of South Andaman. Mount Harriet was the summer headquarters during British raj.
