The Montreal Canadiens are based in Montreal, Quebec Canada. The club is known as Le Club de Hockey Canadien. Richard scored 50 goals in 50 games in 1945 becoming the first player to do so in NHL History. He was awarded the Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL Most Valuable Player in 1947. In 1946 the Habs won their sixth Stanley Cup.

The 1950's were the best period for the Canadiens. The entire decade they made it to the Stanley Cup finals winning it six times.
