Gangtok Shopping Guide

Gangtok is a beautiful capital town of Sikkim, which is located in the hills of Shivalik in the eastern Himalayan range. The place is situated at an altitude of 1,437 metres above the sea level and popular all over the world for its exotic locations and scenic beauty. The town is considered as one of the most sought after tourist places in eastern part of India. Every year people come here from all over the places to take respite from day to day hectic schedule. The place is also popular among people as a honeymoon destination.
Apart from its tourist sites, the town is famous for its shopping places located in and around the town. Like all the hill stations, Gangtok also carries same features such as shops on the sides of the steep roads, narrow alleys, and well organised markets. The shops in this town are lined-up on the narrow alleys leaving small place for tourists to walk. The markets of this town remain filled with the crowd of tourist through out the summer season, however, at the non season time one can find less tourists here.
