A practice of developing web applications is termed as web application development, so we look forward to explore a new web application on a regular basis. Till date there is many technologies developed on which a web app can be developed. They are as follows:-
• Ajax
• ASP
• ASP.NET
• CSS
• ColdFusion
• Java EE
• JavaScript
• Perl
• PHP
• Ruby, including Ruby on Rails
• CGI
• Django
• Wt – Web toolkit, a Qt-ish C++ Web Toolkit Library Lets You Write Scripting-Independent Web Apps
• WebObjects
Apart from these there are lot many technologies that are yet to hit the market and in case you are tech savvy then you can create your own web application with the help and support of some experts.
In the whole web application development process there are many steps that are supposed to be kept in your mind. And all those steps depend upon the size of your project. So check out the steps listed below:-
Step 1: Analysis
Analysis is the first step that one has to keep in mind while developing ...
... a web app. It is necessary to do analysis of what is required and what is in demand. If you are developing for yourself it is essential that you write down what you want from the application
Step 2: Design
Once you are aware of what the web app should do, you should start designing it. It should be clear that the web app should be simple and attractive. You can even create a wireframe of the web app before creating the mockups. Mostly non-designers skip the mockup step and straight away go to Prototypes which are written in HTML (makes use of CSS). If you can, then run some usability tests on the prototypes.
Step 3: Implementation
So, it’s time to choose the framework. It totally depends upon you on which framework you are comfortable. You can choose ASP.NET, PHP with any framework, Ruby on Rails and many more.
Step 4: Polishing
Now it’s time to test the app in order to ensure that the requirements and specifications defined are satisfied or not. Even at this moment if you feel like improving the look and feel of the application to make it perfect you can do that.
Step 5: Release and beyond
Last and the final step is to release the application to make it available to the users.
As the time passes by you will get to know about all the latest developments in web applications.
