An Enlightening Trip To Shirdi

Shirdi is a tiny little town located in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra with great religious significance. Home of the great spiritual guru Shirdi Sai Baba, Shirdi is more of a pilgrimage site than a holiday destination, across all religious sect, Hindu, Muslim or Christians, but still a great sense of relief and calm prevails over after visiting this magnificent town.
Every year millions of people from all parts of the country and also rest of the world flock to this holy region to get seek the blessings of Sai Baba, in fact Shirdi is also an interesting destination for foreign tourists, interested to learn about the culture, spirituality and traditions of India, as all of these elements can be seen in there purest form out here.

The town is relatively safe and thoroughly enjoyable with warm people greeting you with a big smile, however, tourists should respect local customs as people are known to be fiercely protective about their religion and culture, hence dress modestly, don’t indulge in immoral activities and don’t spread your garbage everywhere.
Shirdi is fine to visit nearly all around the year and is well connected to several regions of India, for instance if taking the plane, tourists have to land at any of the nearest airports – Nasik, Pune, Aurangabad and Mumbai and from their hail a taxi or board a bus or train. For tourists traveling by train, alight at the Shirdi Sai Nagar railway station located just 2 kms from the main Samadhi of Sai Baba. Apart from that there are plenty of buses operated by government and private players, plying passengers to and from various destinations of India like Hyderabad, Pune Nasik etc. For people driving their own vehicles the State Highway 10 and Eastern Express Highway offer fast and smooth connectivity.
