At The Holy Lands Of Dwarka

Dwarka sitting in the Jamnagar District of Gujarat is one of the holiest cities of India and one of the Char Dhams in terms of Hindu Mythology, being home to the popular God, Lord Krishna. The region having high religious significance is visited by thousands of visitors every year from not only all over India but also from rest of the world.
Dwarka boast of a rich and also extremely interesting historical background to it that adds to the rich culture and traditions of the region. It is a popular belief that the original city of Dwarka where Lord Krishna himself resided after renouncing Mathura has completely submerged under water and that the later editions of the city has also completely marooned under water for six times and the present city is the seventh such city that has been built in the area.
Dwarka being a major religious site of India is well connected to other regions of India by means of bus and train apart from that tourists can also take the aerial route and land at the nearest airports from the city. The best and probably the most comfortable way to reach Dwarka is by far by the train, the train ...
... station is located just 2 kms from the main temple of the city making it very easy for travelers. Regular trains are easily available to various regions of India like, Varanasi, Ahmedabad, Dehradun, Mumbai, Ernakulam, Guwahati, Gorakhpur and many other such destinations.
In addition to that the state government buses connect Dwarka with all the major cities in the state along with several destinations in the nearby states. For travelers opting for the aerial route the nearest airport is the Porbandar airport located 101 km approx. an alternative to it is Govardhanpur Airpot, Jamnagar located just 112 kms approx.
For the accommodation of tourists there are plenty of good quality hotels, resorts and guest houses across all budget ranges, however there are only few luxury hotels and a plethora of budget hotels offering their facility for reasonable price.
In terms of tourist attractions in Dwarka there is not much offer apart from the temples, like the Dwarkadish Mandir – the main attraction of the region, Nageshwar Temple, Gopi Talav, Bet Dwarka, Hanuman Mandir, Rukhmani Temple and many other such temples adorning the landscape of the region.
The best time to visit this beautiful city is all year round however the months of November to March are the best bet, with pleasant and enjoyable weather as oppose to the harsh summers when temple hopping becomes difficult.
