Flame cutting technology is available with us since Second World War itself but that was not at all improved that time. Oxygen is used as the cutting gas in flame cutting. The oxygen is blown into the kerf at pressures of up to 6 bar. The heated metal reacts with the oxygen there: it begins to burn and oxidizes. The chemical reaction releases large amounts of energy – up to five times the laser energy – and assists the laser beam. The flame cutting is so simple to use and to cut steel and other electrically conductive metals. The working of this type of cutting is done using a high voltage electrical arc and compresses gas, which would normally be air.

This help in preventing the wrapping and paint damage that happens with other low quality flame cutters. Usage of thin heat affected zone (HAZ) helps in cutting a precise curved line and proper usage of templates. Since high branded flame cutters do not rely on highly flammable gases, they have the capacity to cut up to five times faster than traditional torches.
