TRIDELITY offers companies the conversion of 2D and 3D content into glasses-free content

Munich, June 06th 2011 - the German 3D monitor manufacturer TRIDELITY has expanded its service portfolio by yet another service, providing not only glasses-free 3D displays, but also tools to create the necessary special content for the autostereoscopic displays.
These tools are designed to produce the 3D content as easy and cost-effective as ever. Most firms have already created high quality stereo video material which TRIDELITY is now able to convert into Multi-View 3D. The conversion process is based on a kind of image restoration which processes the available material. Be it from ordinary 2D, or from stereoscopic 3D to multi-view 3D. The 2D-3D Conversion software generates a depth map based on the original source and interpolates the images through warping into up to 5 different views. The material can thus be perceived without the aid of glasses by several people at the same time on the autostereoscopic displays.

... any post-processing. Before the conversion process starts, a special tool analyzes the original material in order to measure how good the conversion will be. This quality assessment provides the customer with information as to whether the source material needs further edits in order to avoid any mismatches during the conversion. This ensures that the content is correctly adapted to the target 3D monitor.
