Using only regulation boards and bags, they spend a lot of time practicing the cornhole game. By doing this, they are ready when a tournament is organized near them. There is also a great deal of enjoyment that comes with the game, which is helping to increase the popularity that cornhole is enjoying.

Tournaments can be enjoyed by almost anyone, because the cornhole game is easy to play and easy to learn, allowing it to be played by people of almost any age. Usually men and women as well as adults and children are divided for purposes of a tournament. Cornhole tournaments are often organized for individuals, but there are some which are designed for cornhole teams as well. There is always something for everyone at a cornhole tournament. There have been suggestions that the cornhole game might end up televised, like bowling and other sports, but so far this has not taken place.

For youngsters playing cornhole, it is generally only seen as a game, not a sport.
