The lack of photos and the gender of the person initiating contact are often two ways to determine this. However, sometimes men may choose not to upload a photo of themselves for legitimate reasons. In addition, they often initiate contact when they view a desirable profile. Therefore, further criteria are required to successfully detect whether a man is married.

Online dating and regular dating often see a 'manual' of how often to contact a person. Rules have stated you have to wait a couple of days before responding, or maybe test the person by not responding two seconds after you receive a message. On the other hand with married men they tend to take quite a different approach. Their responses are going to be erratic. First they may not respond unless they are at work where the wife will not see the emails. So you may get responses during the day rather than at night.
